Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Hello Portal Peeps! Gail here today.
I hope you are enjoying all the awesome inspiration for our Mail Art Challenge.
You have until close of play on the 14th to join the fun.
I decided to use one of Lost Coast Designs fabulous Gnomes and make a giant postage stamp!
This is ZZ Top Gnome 2. I also used PMC Circle Frame Background and the number 2 from the License Plate Alphabet.
I started by cutting a piece of card with a postage stamp die, this one is from Sizzix. In hindsight stamping first and die cutting afterwards would have given me more to hold onto...... I stamped the gnome using black archival ink, masked and stamped the 2 using blue archival ink.
I masked the 2, keeping the gnome mask in place too, and stamped PMC Circle Frame Background with green archival ink. This is quite a large stamp and having a bit of extra card to hold onto would have been useful, but all's well that ends well........ I coloured the gnome with distress markers and gel pens and edged the panel with ink. Then I die cut the next size up from green card and mounted my stamped panel. These gnomes are quite big, so my postage stamp is 41/8ish x 31/8ish" (11 x 8.5cm), perfect as it is, or added to a base for a fun postcard.
Don't forget to join the Mail Art Challenge for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars..... anything related to snail mail that features real rubber or clear stamping works!
Thanks for dropping by. Have a awesome day. Hugz
