Sentimentally Yours: Imagination

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, Liesbeth here again. For our challenge Sentimentally Yours I made this simple ATC with the lovely sentiment ,,Imagination is the only weapon". It's one of the Carmens Verandas clear stamps, you find it at this page, almost at the bottom. (click ;-) )
I stamped the birds onto the text using an old fashioned stamp positioner. I used some colour pencils and glitter gel pens to finish the atc. Grab your stamps and join the fun! Read everything about it HERE.

Sentimentally Yours: Just A Girl Looking for A Donut

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, it's Laurie back again with a postcard for the "Sentimentally Yours" Challenge going on til the end of this month here on the Portal.  We want to see your projects that include a sentiment or saying.

For this postcard, I used the 50's Girl stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the In Front of A Salad clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.  If you want to check out a great selection of fabulous sentiments, please visit the Clearstamps page at the Carmen's Veranda website - lots of them will make you smile!

My postcard background is a piece of checked scrapbook paper, edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I stamped my 50's Girl with black ink onto white paper and fussy cut her out.  I then restamped her onto a piece of red scrapbook paper and cut out just her dress, attaching that atop the original stamped image.  I added a bit of color with some Copic Sketch markers.  I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of vintage diary page paper and edged it with the same Distress ink.  I lightly attached both of these stamped images to my postcard front and then built my collage around them.  By not completely fastening down my central items, I am able to position pieces of ephemera, etc behind and around them.  Once I have all my collage elements in place, then I will finish gluing down my central elements.

So come join us before the month is over! We look forward to seeing your "Sentimentally Yours" projects.  Be sure to include some rubber stamping for a chance to win some free stamps!

#120 Sentimentaly yours

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello dear visitors, today my (Riet) take on the challenge.
I used the LCD bubbles background stamp,
and the CV, I am a child of the moon saying.
This is one of my favorite CV sayings.
But if you have some time, go visit the CV webstore.
Its stuffed with funny and lovely sentiments and sayings.
Did you now that Lost Coast Designs and Carmens Veranda still has a 25% discount?

This card is easy and fast to make.
You start with stamping with versamark the bubbles background.
Sprinkle white embossingpowder on the versamark print.
Then you start spunging with 3 colors distressink.

Now on a black piece of paper you stamp with versamark the CV sentiment.
Heat set the white embossingpowder.
Take a die cut you like and cut it out.
Glue the card on a white and a black cardstock. This gives it a bit of drama.
With some foamtape you glue the sentiment on.
Easy peasy, dont you think, and what a lovely effect it has.

Now show us your take on this challenge,
The team would love to see what you make.
Come and join, and maybe you will win some rubber and our lovely winners badge.

Did you know that we have a very active facebook group?
Come on over and join us for lost of stamping fun.

Cookie Day

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here today with a simple card for the Sentimentally Yours challenge.
I used Lost Coast Designs Leaves Background and Creepy Heart Doll with the wonderful Carmen's Veranda Eat A Cookie sentiment.

I started by stamping the Leaves Background stamp on a pale blue base card with Sky Blue archival ink.  I was going to fold the card base and be done, but then I stamped the sentiment on the wrong end!!!!  Ah well, plan B.........

I cut the leaf panel with a wonky stitch die and stamped the sentiment and Creepy Heart Doll with black archival.  I coloured the doll with distress markers, adding a little blue shadow around her, and mounted the panel on a buff card base.

Join the challenge for a chance to win Lost Coast Design dollars.  See you there.....

Stay weird

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all Cathy here with a card for you today.
Stamps used:
For this one I had the Ballerina with fish already colored and cut out. I was going to use him for something else that I don't remember what for.
I had the background also made up from something else. I did use blues and green distress sprays on it.
I die cut the umbrella out of black cardstock.
Add some washi tape for the  Ballerina to stand on add the umbrella to his hand. Stamp Stay weird saying on the bottom of the card. Add white highlights and some gold hearts coming out of the umbrella and you are done.

Come show us your sentiment for this challenge.

Push Off!!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning, and a very happy Sunday. It's Sue here with my second piece for our fun 'Sentimentally Yours' challenge.

I used to have 3 cats that let me live in their house, so know full well that this sentiment is absolutely true - but only if the cat wanted to, no way is the little Prince/Princess pushing if they don't want to!

I started by stamping and clear embossing the Carmen's Veranda Compas Square 4 times. Then I dipped and dragged in Distress Oxides in various shades of blue. Blueprint Sketch is my new favourite colour. I could have made an oxide background first and then embossed in white, but I like how the embossing repels the ink if you do this bit first. (And I have a massive tub of clear embossing powder, but only tiny ones of white!)

The idea was to use the map panel in one piece, but decided that it would look nice on black so I chopped it up and layered onto a black background.

Yoga Cat has been stamped, coloured, and clear embossed.

These are my stamps. The sentiment is a great size, and really easy to chop up once stamped.

Lost Coast

Yoga Cat

Carmen's Veranda

Compass Square

I hope you like it, and that you join in too with your 'Sentimental' pieces. Remember, there are Lost Coast dollars up for grabs.

Thanks very much for looking, take care, and enjoy what's left of your weekend x

Sentimentally Yours: Ask Albert

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Happy spring from Laurie!  I'm back with a card for the new challenge going on during the last half of the month of April:  Sentimentally Yours.  We are looking for your projects which feature your favorite sentiments or sayings.  And I found a great one for this one - Eenie, Meenie, Minie - from Carmen's Veranda.

I also used the Einstein stamp from Carmen Veranda and the Ledger background stamp from Lost Coast Designs.

For my background I dove into my box of Gelli prints and found this one using cream, brown, and gold acrylic paints and some stenciling.  My stamping covers most of it so you can't really see the stencil design on this one too clearly.  But stamped with the Ledger background in black StayzOn ink gave it kind of a vintage feel, I thought.  I then tore around the edges and applied some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to age it a bit.

I stamped Einstein with black ink onto cream card stock and fussy cut him out then positioned him on the lower portion of my card front.  Next I stamped my sentiment with black ink onto the same card stock, cut it out, and edged it with black ink.  It gets positioned just above Albert as shown.  Layering with a piece of black card stock is the final step.

Please join us for this new, fun challenge!  Be sure  that rubber stamping features prominently in your projects (no digital stamps!) and you could be the winner of some free stamps!

It's All In The Cards

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Thursday. It's Sue here and I'm sharing my huge playing cards with you for our fun 'Numbers' challenge.

I started with these three giant cards from my deck, they are about 8 inches tall.

For my numbers, I used a couple of Lost Coast borders, Bingo, and Numbers and just cut them out and layered them.

Now it's time for the gnomes! This is the Ace of gnomes, Book Gnome, and I've teamed him with the Carmen's Veranda sentiment Power Of Coffee.

Next, it's the two of gnomes, Sunglasses Gnome which I've put together with Full Ass.

And finally the three of gnomes with Three Gnomes and The Ass Family

These are the stamps that I used,

Bingo

Numbers

Book Gnome

Sunglasses Gnome

3 Gnomes

Power of Coffee

Ass Family

These were great fun to make, I hope you like them and that you join in with our challenge. Just join up with the linky for the chance to win some Lost Coast dollars.

Take care and have a very happy day x

#119 Numbers

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everybody, Riet here.
This challenge is al about numbers.
And as I have a preference for vintage and steampunk stamping, I went in that direction.
I used the lovely Steampunk bicycle lady.
This card is not so difficult to make.
So even a beginner can try out this technique.
I will help you through it.
So here we go.

What you need:
Embossing folder with numbers on it.
A white card.
Distress oxide,
Speckled egg
Ground espresso
Broken china
Fossilized amber
Crackling campfire
Distressink (not the oxide) Walnut stain
Stazon Timber brown
Markers or pencils to color the stamp.

Now the first step is to make ink puddles with,
Speckled egg, Ground espresso, Broken china
and Fossilized amber.
Spray a little bit of water on the ink.
Now pickup the ink with the paper.

Dry the paper, but leave it a little bit damp.
When embossing with a folder it works better when the paper is not compleetly dry.

Run trough your die cutting machine.

For the next step we are going to swipe with the stamppads over the raised parts.

Spray a littlebit of water so the ink will run out a bitt.
Dry the paper and then repeat the proces again.
As last repeat it with the Broken China.

Keep doing this till you like the results.

Now stamp the steampunk bicycle lady and color her.

Before you gleu her on the card, I have sew some stitching at the top and bottem.
And added 3 hotfix bronze stars.
And glued the card on dark brown cardstock.
Hope you liked this tutorial, and have fun with stamping.

We, the team would love to see your makes.
So feel free to join our numbers challenge.
There is a chance for you to win some rubberstamps.
You can join with all kind of stamp brands,
but please read the rules first.
