#118 Where did you get that hat.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello stamp lovers.
Here a post from me, Riet.
What a fun challenge.
Its all about hats, I love that hat, hihi.
For this card I used the pretty LCD stamp Manga goth with tophat.
and the large florish
The words are from Carmens Veranda Wine and chocolates
 What more did I use?
Pink, turqoise and purple pencils.
stazon royal purple
Mandala stencil/mask
Distressink, seedles preserves, dusty concord.
White gelpen
Nuvo shimmer powder, lilac waterfall.
White gelpen.

Start by wetting the paper over the middle part of the paper.
Sprinkle some nuvo powder on the wet part.
When required, spray some water over it.
But no powder on the upper and lower part of the paper.
Dry the paper with the heattool.
On the bottem half stamp the florish with the stazon royal purple.
Now take the mandala and spunge with the seedles preserves over the madala.
Do not go over the florish.
With the pecils I colored the florish and some parts of the mandala.
This way it pops more.
On a piece of paper I stamped the manga girl with the royal purple stazon.
And colored her with the pencils.
And with the white gelpen I added some high lights on the
manga girl and the florish.
With the two distress colors I made some splashes of ink on the card.
Now glue the manga girl on the card.
And stamp with the purple stazon the words on the top of the card.
I added 2 colors of cardstock at the back.

Now, for the challenge we would love to see what kind of hat you are going to show us.
So join our challenge, and maybe you wil be the next winner.

Hat Trick

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here again with some more hatty ideas with my favourite Carmen's Veranda boys!!

Frank said he didn't have a hat so Charlie lent him one!  Not sure it suits him, but there we go.  I am also entirely responsible for the wiggle in the sentiment cos I decided the easiest way to convert it from square 8 lines to long 3 lines was to chop it up!  So I did!!  So it's a little wiggly in places, but perfection is overrated........

I used a slightly grungy off white Authentique card base.  I stamped the re-arranged sentiment and masked it off.  Then I stamped Charlie and Frank with brown archival ink, masked them and stamped Boris.  I edged the card with brown Promarker and also drew a line under the boys.  Then I used a caramel Promarker to fill in the background around them.  Finally I stamped Charlie's hat on a scrap of the same card using the brown archival ink, fussy cut and stuck it on Franks head.

Grab your stamps and your hats and join the fun for a chance to win.

Due to the mass cancellation of stamp/scrapbook shows Linda is running an online virtual convention.   Use coupon code QUARANTINE to get 25% off any purchase of Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps.  Katzelkraft stamps, stamp accessories and Stencil Girl stencils are not included in the sale.

Last call For the Mini Me Challenge

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!  Gail here today with a final reminder for the Mini Me challenge.  Mr Linky closes at 23.59 PST tonight.  Get stamping those little projects, tags, bookmarks, ATC's and join the fun for a chance to win.

I made a threesome of Artist Trading Coins using Lost Coast Designs Dark Girls and Pieces of Calligraphy.

I used a stitch die to cut my coins from card.  I stamped the Dark Girls with black archival ink, masked them and stamped the Pieces of Calligraphy with Library Green archival ink.  I coloured the girls with Promarkers and edged the coins with the green archival ink.  Simply so much fun!!

Mini Me: Trio of Tags

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie, here with a trio of tags for the current Mini Me Challenge where we are looking for your "mini" projects - think ATCs, ATC coins, tags, twinchies, etc.

For this set of tags, I used the Circus Dogs Set and the Verticle Party Hats Border stamps from Lost Coast Designs and the Happy, Sing, and Play clear stamps from Carmen's Veranda.

My background for these tags is part of a collage master board I had left over from another project.  I die cut my tags from that master board and edged them with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I stamped my circus dogs onto coffee stained paper with black ink and fussy cut them out.  I attached them to the tags with foam tape to give them some dimension.  I stamped a ball onto orange paper and cut that out for one of the dogs.  (This ball stamp also comes in the Circus Dog set.)  For the second dog, I stamped one of the party hats onto orange paper and cut that out.  I added some white Nuvo drops to the tips on his hat.  And for the third dog, I stamped the top portion of the original dog stamp onto orange paper and cut out the dog's ruffled collar and attached it atop the original stamped image.

Next I stamped the three sentiments with black ink onto white card stock.  I ran it through my copier and reduced the size by 30% so they would fit better on my tags.  I edged them with black ink and glued them to the bottom of each tag.  Final step was to tie some yellow decorative ribbon at the top of each.

Please join us for the fun swap - so many options for mini sized projects!

#117 Mini me, Frida skull necklace.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, stamp friends, Riet here.
What a great challenge Gail (teamleader) has given us.
Mini me, love it.
This challenge really sparked my imagination.
I love shrink foil, so that was the solution to make something small.
And this is the result, a Frida skull necklace.
Hope you enjoy it.

This is what you need to make the necklace.
White shrink foil.
Markers or pencils
Stazon Jet black

First we start with stamping the Frida skull.
Color it, keep in mind that you keep the colors light,
When the foil is heatted and shrinks the colors will be much darker.
Cut it out and heat it in oven or with the heattool.
Read the instructions on the shrink foil package.
Next step is to take a die and cut it out on your machine.
Dont have a die cut machine? no worry, you can cut a form with a scissors.

Dont forget to make the holes, make them big because of the shrinking.
Mine where as big as a pencil.

Stamp with the stazon the fourth demension stamp.

Now wait till the ink is completely dry.
When not dry it can smug when you shrink it.
Now you glue the skull on the background

Attach a few metal rings through the holes, like on the picture.

continue to assemble the chain as shown on the picture.

I hope you have as much fun with this necklage as I had.
Thanks for reading my post, and have fun with making your own juwelry.

Dont forget to show your mini me on the LCD blog in the challenge.
You have a chance to win some rubberstamps.
And please read the rules first.
