Anything goes: Frida & Weeping man

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, a final project for our ,Anything Goes Challenge
A very easy and simple background: I love painting with acrylic paint, and I always use a disposable paper palette for it. After painting, I never throw away the left-overs of paint. What I do is: I spray a little bit af water onto the left-overs and I soak some pieces of paper into the wet paint, I repeat it 3 or four times, till almost all the paint is gone. You will get nice artistically backgrounds, and you don't waste anything.
With just one or two stamps on top you have a quick nice card!
Stamps I used here: Weeping man, Frida 2 and for the text Frida 1.

Let Your Imagination Run Wild

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

We're going wild with the current challenge - Anything Goes! If it's stamped it's fair game. How fun is that...time to set your imagination free!

I set my imagination loose and stumbled upon this mysterious entry to ?????

To create this card I actually started out by digging in my garbage can! Yes, I pulled the background paper out of the trash. It was a watercolor experiment that went horribly wrong as I dripped a bit of blue ink in the center of my fire background.  I thought I might save it by inking black through a stencil to hide much of the spilt ink which worked quite well.

I then stamped this fun door from the Door & Window Set on brown cardstock which I then embossed. I stamped the same image a second time using Morning Mist (grey). The brown door was cut and mounted on the grey image and then I added a bit of color and details with Kuretake Zig Clean Brush Markers and a black paint pen.  This image was then trimmed and mounted on the rescued background.

It didn't look finished so I added the Measuring Tape Border along the bottom and added a strip along the top which was stamped using one of the stamps from the Pieces of Calligraphy set and the word Mystery from the Misc. Words Set. Add a few brads and I called it done!

I hope you join in on the fun and enter your own stamped creation into this challenge... #105 - Anything Goes!

Anything goes challenge, Key chain

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Riet here with a key ring.

Years ago I wrote an article for the Art Specially. A dutch stamp magazine that unfortunaly no longer exits.
The article was about stamping plastic key rings.
You know, those plastiscs where you can put a picture in.
So I thought It would be nice to repeat that with the lovely stamp from LCD “Prom night”.

To start, remove the lid from the key ring and paint the key ring with black acrylic paint.
Of course we leave the window free of paint.
While the paint is drying, stamp the Prom night stamp twice with black stazon ink. Color them in, and add some accents with a white gel pen.
With the separate window you can draw around the faces of the girls.
Cut out and color them.
Now you apply the gold flaces to the black paint, leaving some black open so that you get a smudged effect.
Place both girls in the hanger and close the window.
Now you have a personal key ring, which is a very nice gift to give to someone.
Have fun creating and giving away or keeping yourself.
Don't forget to participate in our challenge and have a chance to win beautiful rubber stamps.

Anything Goes: Black and White

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Welcome from Laurie to another great challenge here on the Portal:  Anything Goes!  So the sky is the limit, and you can use any theme you like for this one.  Just be sure to include some rubber stamping somewhere in your project.

For this simple card I have used the  Grunge Flower Profile stamp from Lost Coast Designs.

I created a collage master board a few weeks ago on an 8 1/2" by 11" piece of white card stock and like to keep these on hand as you can cut out sections to make backgrounds for smaller projects.  So this background is from that master board.  I stamped my image with black ink onto a piece of a manilla file folder and cut it out.  I attached it as shown to my background and layered that with a piece of black card stock.  Very simple but I think this stamp is so elegant that it speaks for itself.

So join us, won't you, and create something that inspires and delights you!  You could win some rubber stamps from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda!

Gleeful

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here today with a fun birthday wish from me and a friend!!
Evil Eye hasn't been out of the cupboard for a while, so he's feeling a little cranky!

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Crackle Background with Salty Ocean distress oxide on a piece of cereal box and spritzed with water.
I stamped Lost Coast Designs Evil Eye on another piece of the box, coloured with Promarkers and gel pens and fussy cut him.
I mounted everything on a blue base card and added the Happy Birthday on a stitched cut panel.  I stamped it with the Salty Ocean oxide, but it didn't stand out enough so I embossed with Baby Blue powder.  I also added a little green gel pen to his eyes cos I thought it looked better that white.
Our current challenge is Anything Goes and runs til the end of the month.
Link up your stamped anythings for a chance to win.

Thanks for visiting.  Hugz

Coffee

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a coffee card for you.
Stamps used:
I started out with a coffee cup to go die. Cut it out of white cardstock. Colored the background with different colors of purple from the Distress line. (all the purples)
Next I stamped Front sign gnome on scrap white cardstock and colored him in with Copic markers. I wrote the work Coffee on his sign. I must say I amazed my self that I didn't mess that part up. I cut him out.
I cut the lid from black cardstock and white heat embossed the Corner swirl randomly on the lid.
I then took that same Corner swirl and stamped it in black on the coffee cup.
Lastly I glued the lid on and the Front sign gnome

I hope you like my coffee card I made for you. Come join the fun with your make here.
Don't forget there is a sale going on.

Mixed Media Slimline by Roni

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Our current challenge is - #105 Anything Goes so I decided to just play and that's exactly what I did when I created this card!

I started off by creating the background with plain old cardstock and a variety of pigment powders...Color Burst, Lindy's and some Nuance thrown in for good measure.

After it was good and dry I stamped and embossed the main images from the Victoriana set of stamps which were embossed with black ep.

I then used a stamp from the new set Pieces of Calligraphy (which I absolutely LOVE) using Morning Mist VersaFine Clair ink.

After that I added all sorts of ink with stencils. Splats and scribbles, scrolls and mesh - just anything. Once this panel was mounted on a slim-line card base I sprinkled on a selection of sequins from Sparkle Blends to finish it off.

When Pigs Fly

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Riet here.
Today a tag with the lovely steampunk pig from LostCoast Designs.
First I colored the background with the 3 oxide and a little water.
I did this with an A4 so that I can make some die cuts later.
I let it dry well.
When the paper dries well I print the text "when pig's fly" in a corner.
Then I cut out a tag and the text.
Then I ran the tag through the embossing folder.
With an inkblending tool I just touched the nails and metal edges and the edges of the tag and text with Oxid Aged mahogany.
Die cut the angle with the gears and the loose gears.
Color and cut the pig.
Now you can stick it the way you like it.
Well this is my contribution to the anything goes challenge.
I am curious what you are going to make, let your imagination work.
And you know that the more people participate, the bigger the prize gets.
But most importantly HAVE FUN !!!!
What I used for this tag.

Distressoxide speckled egg, Tea dye and aged mahogany.

Mr. Punkinstein

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all. Cathy here with a slimline card for you today.
Stamps used:
I started out with Tim Holtz wallpaper for Halloween. I stamped Pieces of Calligraphy  randomly over the paper.
Next I stamped Pumpkin  on white cardstock. I then stamped Frankenstein  on tissue paper. Cut Frank apart and collaged him onto the pumpkin. When that was dry I colored it with Copic markers and cut out.
Then I took one of Tim Holtz Halloween paper dolls and colored it with Pitt pens. They work great coloring on a coated surface. I then added the pumpkin head to cover the head of the paper doll.
Mr. Punkinstein was born.
Add some bits and pieces to make the card complete.
I hope you join the fun challenge here.

The 25% OFF sale is still going on. Go check it out.

Sleeping Lucy

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone,
Today a big card, with the lovely pixie "sleeping Lucy".
I started cutting out a circle, 6Inch / 15cm.
I sprayed the circle with glimmer mist, Carribian blue, Cosmos (pink) and Moonlight.
With distress ink, I sponged some faint mountains and a moon.
And with stazon black I stamped the shrubbery and added some accents with the white gel pen.
The pixie is stamped with stazon black and colored in with pencils.
Stamp the beautiful Carmens Veranda sentiment.
Love this one, it's such a magical saying.
With seedles preserves, I sponge the edge of the top half of the card.
And with black the bottom half. Now for the mat.
I stamped the mat with seedless preserves distress ink and the LCD florish stamp.
The edge is also sponged.
Now another blue mat and you are done.
Hope you enjoyd this little tutorial.

And dont forget to join our challenge, you can win some lovely rubberstamps.

Lily Love

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal peeps.  Gail here today with a little botanic fun.  Our current challenge is Let's Go Vegetarian, which basically means any stamped make featuring trees, flowers, fruit, vegetables, seaweed, any sort of plantlife.   I used Lost Coast Designs very pretty Fruit Pods Background and the very lovely Lillith stamp.

Love all the different lillies in this beautiful stamp.
I started by stamping the Fruit Pods Background on some green mottled designer card.  Then I folded and trimmed it to get my base card.
I stamped Lillith on white card with black archival and coloured with Promarkers and gel pens.  Images like this used to intimidate me, but I find if you pick one item to colour and then another one, soon the whole image is finished.  If you are unsure about an area leave it and come back to it later when more of the image is coloured and it's easier to see what is left to do.
I cut round the image, leaving a wide border and then used a green and black Promarker to add two borders making 'faux layers'.  Keeps it flat and lighter for postage.
Thanks for visiting.
Get out your flowers, trees, fruits, vegetables etc and join the fun for a chance to win!

Coffee Beans?

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Today one of our little gnome friends has a question for you all....

Keeping with our current challenge - # 104 - Let's Go Vegetarian - He wants to know if Coffee counts as a veggie?  What do you think???  They are "Beans" after all - LOL!!

To create this card I stamped the Side Sign Gnome onto a piece of watercolor paper using VersaFine Nocturne ink. I also stamped the Trees background image onto watercolor cardstock as well and both were painted using Prima's Watercolor Confections paints. You can't tell from the photo but some of the paints have a lovely shimmer to them.

The gnome was fussy cut and I hand wrote his question on the sign.

The background panel was mounted on a green card base and then the gnome was added to the card using double stick foam tape.

There's still time to join in on the fun....
