Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Hi stampers, here a tutorial from me, Riet.
For the christmas in july challenge,
I made this wooden heart wall hanger.
I used the plaid pants Santa from Carmen's Veranda.
To start, I painted the heart dark brown with acrylic paint.
When the paint was dry I used crackle medium from Americana Decor.
I let this dry overnight.
I'd rather not do it with the embossing tool.
I don't think the cracks work very well this way.
When the crackle medium was dry I went over it with a beige/sand coloured acrylic paint.
I also let it air dry.
I love the way it turned out.
In the meantime I coloured the Santa with distress ink.
I used these distress ink, colours for this:
For his suit, Shabby shutters, Rustic Wilderness.
Face, Tattered rose, Cheeks Aged mahogany.
Bond edges, Antique linen, Pumice stone.
Stripes on Santa's pants, Antique linen.
Santa's boots, Gathered twigs.
Santa's bag, Fired brick.
I coloured a sheet of paper with Shabby shutters, Rustic Wilderness.
And a sheet coloured with Fired Brick.
I did this by applying ink to a craft sheet and spraying it with water.
Then you pass the paper through it.
With a number of dies I made the poinsettia and the holly leaves.
I did the same with the bow and the merry christmas.
Coluor the edges with a brush.
Coloured the berries with a red marker.
And punched the heart of the poinsettia with a yellow piece of paper.
Now put it together and you're done.
I hope you enjoy the tutorial, feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.
