Let's Fly: Steampunk Flying Girl

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie with another project for our "Let's Fly" Challenge, going on for a couple more days here on the Portal.  For this card, I used the Steampunk Fly Girl stamp from Lost Coast Designs.  I love all things steampunk, and this is one of my favorite steampunk stamps from Lost Coast Designs.

This started with a piece of vintage book page that I layered over a piece of white paper with Modge Podge.  I added a second layer of Modge Podge atop my vintage text and  smoothed a piece of decorative decoupage or rice paper onto it.  I smoothed it all down and let it dry.  I cut it into a squarish shape with some deckle edged scissors, allowing the vintage book page to show on 3 sides.  I edged those sides with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

My Steampunk Fly Girl was stamped onto a piece of coffee stained paper with black ink and fussy cut out.  I then affixed her atop my card front with some foam dimensional tape.  I typed the word "Fly into my computer, enlarged it, and punched it out in a circle shape.  I edged that with the same Distress ink and glued it to the lower right corner.  I then glued a vintage optometrist's lens atop the circle.

We are so excited to see your "Flying" projects before this challenge ends on the 14th.  Be sure to include some rubber stamping in your projects for a chance to win some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda!
