A Slide Mailer

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and happy Monday, it's Sue here with my second project for our Anything Goes challenge, and this time around I've decorated a slide mailer.

These are something that I make every so often, I do enjoy making them, but once I've done one I don't need to do another for a while!

I started by painting the outside of my mailer with DecoArt paints and then stencilling through with white acrylic.

Then I stamped the Carmen's Veranda Passport Background, and that was the front all done.

For the back I stamped the CV Leonardo Man  - this is where a stamping platform really comes into it's own as you can keep stamping until you get the perfect image.

Time to do the inside now. I  made a rusty effect on the slide with DecoArt sand paste and paints. Then I chose a couple of images for the slides I used Steampunk Icarus and Steampunk Flygirl.

I rusted the inside of the mailer, and painted and then stamped with Antique Text Border

And on the other side I stamped the lovely Chloe Collage.

And there we are - all done!
I hope you like it, and that you join in with our challenge - remember it's 'anything goes' so as long as it's got some stamping on, it's good by us.
Have a happy week, and thanks very much for looking xx

I feel like such a dork! Do you purchase a "slide mailer" and then decorate it, or do you create the mailer and then finish it? And do you mail it? This is all so new to me! Artistically, I love this! Your step-by-step was great! Gorgeous stamps!

Hi Kay, I think that slide mailers are something that crafters have kidnapped. They were originally used to send blood slides between hospitals and labs. They are just plain cardboard and have glass slides so you can decorate them as you like. You should give them a try xx

Ahhhh, you are a font of knowledge Sue. I did wonder where these came from. I too have one kicking around somewhere. Love how you decorated this. Love the bloke flying through the second side and the rust. Beautiful project. Hugz
