31 Days of Halloween #30: Poe's Raven

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie on the next to last day of October and the end of our month long Halloween celebration here on the Portal.  What a great time of year and what a fun month this has been, celebrating Halloween with all of you every day!

I've got one more card for this challenge using the Big Crow stamp and the Nevermore clear stamp, both from Carmen's Veranda.  This crow stamp is large measuring almost 6 inches from bill to tail, so it really makes an impression!!

I stamped my crow with black ink onto white card stock and cut him out.  I honestly wasn't sure about the coloring of a raven or crow other than the feathers are black.  When I looked up photos, most of them showed back feet and bill and dark eyes.  So I changed one aspect and colored his eye bright yellow, placing a clear plastic Dew Drop atop it to give it some depth.

The background I made is a piece of Tim Holtz Halloween tissue paper.  I used matt medium and glued it to a gray and white dotted piece of scrapbook paper, edged it with black ink, then layered it with white and yellow panels.  I die cut a decorative border of shiny black card stock and attached that at the bottom.  My crow is attached with foam tape as is his little witch's hat.  I stamped the sentiment with black ink onto a white scrap and cut it out.  I used some gray and yellow markers to color the small crow in the saying and attached it with foam tape a well.

This is your last chance to join us in celebrating Halloween by showing us what creations you can make and entering them here on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps!

Happy Haunting!
